And doing quest while sometimes rewards you - after doing majority of 'act 1' side quests i've only got like 1000, plus 1500 from what i actually sold or otherwise found.
I'd think maxing alchemy and selling potions is a relatively quicker way if you don't know which chests to poke exactly, alchemy rises up quickly, and with right perks you can churn out 6 potions at once.
I also did some archery tournaments from huntsmans son left from Tachov for some pocket change early on.
Sometimes you will even find excellent armor you don't need to buy anymore then, just repair. basically the only other thing you need a larger sum for is a horse and not even that when you just keep pebbles or hering until you get the secret perk which makes them excellent.
Stop obsessing..., i recently read a discussion on reddit wher ppl seriously talked about where to best ride in circles to unlock the horse perk for pebbles or hering..., please what ? Why ??? just ride the horse doing stuff and it will unlock, why ride a nonsense route additionally just to ride everything after that a little faster ?
Are gamers actively trying to make everything a boring grind, even when the game is designed purely without the need to ?
After progressing a bit in the story you will very quickly find useful equipment and have many opportunities to sell some loot, very fast there will be nothing really interesting to buy anymore and amassing groschen becomes pointless.
Being poor early on is a novelty and half of the fun.
- the first map best combat armor dude to steal it from appears only after a certain main quest
- the best thieving gloves in the game are a reward from another main quest (I refused registering for the set)
etc
You can also just collect herbs and sell them for money. Save some honey for yourself. When your nourishment drops below 60 eat one.
this - you can basically just do the quests and side activities and loot some occasionally, maybe find some stuff randomly or steal a bit when you are sneaking around for a quest anyways and you will have more money than you need before you are halfway through the story.
Yes and that is the point, innit? Also you can get great armor by looking for the Brunschwick armor set. It is absolutelly free, just couple of bandits and wolves to defeat.
I hardly ever need much money in the game, everything is found or obtained by stealing; just have to be good at it. I guess being a master at KCD1 has helped. Even though the rules and behavior in this game is a bit different with how NPCs can react and such, but sneaking around at night and saving often helps. Looted plenty of Bandits of everything, plus it helps you find Horses out on the road, headshot them, butcher them, take all the stuff, turn all the meat into dried jerky meat and put the "stolen" marked items in personal chest (putting on horse no longer works because they search your saddle too if ever need to deal with the law) and then in a couple hours to a day, the stolen status is removed and you can properly sell them. If anything is damaged, repair it yourself with the proper repair kits.
You can pickpocket the merchant, steal the keys and open chest - it's better approach sometimes, even with thievery 30 (especially if someone sleeps close to very hard chest, you can wake them up while picking lock).
My first play through I struggled until I got armor which I had to continually reload my game so I could kill an armored bandit without master strikes
Get your rep up and they will slowly start having more groshen on hand. Think most of the armor/sword/black smith in Kuttenburg for me are sitting around 800 groshen each visit.
Think the last time I looked I was sitting around 40K gorshen with 71 hours into the game.
