Anyone know what determines if you get Henry's Sword at the end of the game?

I just finished this game for the first time. I had known about "Henry's Sword" and assumed it was automatic. To my surprise, in the ending cinematic, Sir Radzig just kept the sword. And sure enough, when I was loaded into the post-game world I had no sword.

What choice did I make/action not do that made it so I didn't get the sword?

It was never Henry's sword to begin with? Haven't finished the game myself, but in my inventory it has Radzig's name on it. This makes sense, as that's who the sword was crafted for in the intro of the first game.

In the cinematic for me when Henry handed him the sword. He checked it out and looked at it and said "This is not my sword. It's yours" and gave it back to me.
Idk how you messed that up tbh. I'm guessing you didn't reforge it or something?

I did reforge it.

He said the same thing to me, but Henry repeated once more that it was Radzig's sword and he said "As you wish" and kept it.

It was in a cutscene obviously so it wasn't like a dialogue option I selected.

I always assumed it would go to Radzig. That was the last task Henry's foster father gave him and he's been torn up over not completing it. His whole point to recovering it is to complete his obligation to Martin and give his soul peace.

If you chose a peaceful future with raising kids and family as a story dialog choice, you don't get to keep your sword.

NO, this is definely a bug. I went back to my save and pick all four choices, none of them leave me the sword. Players went through a lot to get that sword back, so we should be able to keep it no matter what choice we make. I look it up and there are plenty players have the same issue.

You can’t at present time, there is a bug. I got the sword back in a cutscene but it’s not in my inventory.

It is renamed Henry's Longsword.

I've only finished the game twice so far...once with Henry's dead parents happy and once disappointed (the devs didn't hold any punches on that one). Both times I got an option to give the sword to Sir Radzig and then he gave it back to me.

So I think it is better to say there is something that makes it so you cannot keep the sword. Maybe something related to Hans that could filter on up to Hanush and Radzig?

Oh, make sure you are looking for "Henry's Sword" in your inventory. It gets renamed and I think finally looses the quest item tag.

Same for me. Henry refuses the sword.
The moment I got it in Trosky, I unequipped it and left it unused till the end of the game.
Could it be some secret statistic of how much you use the sword and according to that game decides you'll get it or not? Because that sword definitely didn't singed to me :D
