why do the LOD look so bad in this game lol

same thing with KCD1, the LODS were atrocious. The game looked absolutely beautiful in close knit forests, but as soon as you enter an area with an open field, it looks like a ps2 game. Same thing with KCD2. Is there any way I can increase the LODS to a reasonable distance that can actually look good in an open field without decreasing performance? the lods are starting to border fallout new vegas levels of crappy looking

Long distance LODs are always very demanding and performance intense, not only in this game. Ultra settings or Experimental brings good-to-excellent distance LODs in this game, so try lowering resolution or use higher performant upscaling modes while keeping the Ultra or Experimental LOD-related setting values.

im playing on ultra object quality, vegetation detail, and shadows and experimental for everything else, because those 3 settings tank my FPS by like 40 fps and i want to play at 120 fps for the game to be smooth. is there like a mod to increase performance so I can use the experimental settings that tank my FPS while still maintaining good performance?

I turned them to ultra. High has way too visible popin. Lost 5-10 FPS but worth it
