Yes and yes.
I think it just finnicky and fires when it wants to
I've killed an enemy by sword, longsword, bow, crossbows, sabre, pistole, axe, mace, polearm, but still achievement doesn't pop-out. Can you advise if I am missing something, and if yes, what's that?
I've heard that there is also another type like "hunting sword", but not sure if truly it is another weapon. Any ideas?
Well your earliest sword (pick up at the herbalist by you or Hans off the dude Hans kills) is a hunting sword.
Overall there are 4 types of swords, not sure if you need to use all 4.
Hunting swords, are like cleavers with a single sharp edge. and are some of the earliest to find swords in game. Just about every poacher carries them. They typically have a little more blunt and not very good stab.
Shortswords, strait short blades, good at either slashing or piercing. Includes noble swords, broadswords and anything else that is one handed and a strait double edged blade.
Sabres, curved one handed weapon, with better piercing than cleavers, but primarily slashing weapons.
And last but not least, Longswords, which are 2 handed unless using a certain perk, but keep in mind your going to use more stamina and swing slower when using longsword one handed.
The only other thing I can think of the possibility of pole arms. I haven't went for the achievement itself but whether you need to use both a halberd and quarterstaff type would be the possible question.
These are video game characters. They are even less real than your kids' toys.
