Swords too effective against plate armor
Plate should be very protective against slashing and piercing damage by swords and pike weapons as they were in medieval times. In the game you can still easily kill a fully plated npc with a 1 or 2 handed sword.

yeah, noticed that as well. As it stands blunt weapons like hammers and maces are not really worth picking over a sword.

Altough i caved a lot of helmets in with my warhammer, not sure if that would have gone as well and quickly with a sword.

But in general i tend to agree.

cut yes, stab no
no plate armor could withstand the thrust of a sword, that was the most common technique to defeat someone with a sword, to stab him.

Slashing yes, piercing no, Whole trick was to stab the opponent in the gaps between plates.
Yeah I feel OP. I faced a guy in a quest today, where I had to fight with a ♥♥♥♥ sword and no armor against a dood in full plate, and I killed him my first go and had to restart. It is much more noticeable when you get level 4 swords.

There are mods for that, I use one that halves the damage of melee weapons (I can only recommend it)
there are also mods that change exactly what you are looking for .... and there will come even better mods when modding support is implementet.

I was going to wait for Hardcore mode and do a second play through. I started day 1 so there was not many mods. although more then I thought, so I decided to just wing it my first go. I may mod it for this though as I am way to OP and addicted to making better swords.

Thanx for the heads up. I will go look now.
