Master strikes counter?
What the counter to master strikes when you are using a mace, axe or polarm ?

When using these weapons and fighting vs an opponent with swords they just slam you with master strikes and i feel at a disadvantage for not using a sword.

If you attack them with a counter attack they cant hit you back with master strikes? Because i feel like the npc did that to me.

Don't walk into their master strikes.

Don't attack opposite their sword position, or they'll just master strike you, in stead, attack 90 degrees off from their sword position.

if that doesn't work, Feint by charging to attack their open side, but quickly switch to 90 degrees just before you strike. This will trick them into defending their open side, so your strike has a better chance of connecting.

I'll be honest though, I'm much more used to a sword than anything else, so these may not work as well, but the basics are the generally the same.

dont attack from different side. i mean if enemy is holding weapon up, attack from up, if enemy is holding weapons on the left - attack from the left. There is no other way to counter it, also master strike works only with swords

Best way would be to learn feints, and Poison.
The Max qualitiy Poison is Just a I win in the next 10 Seconds and you cant do anything about it.

Simple, don't mirror their attack. If they hold their weapon to the left attack from above or below, if they hold their weapon downwards attack from the sides. It's easy to counter, you just have to pay attention. It's not a mindless slasher like skyrim.

Compared to the first game, masterstrikes have been massively nerfed. In kcd 1 you couldn't counter them at all forcing you to attack enemies using your own masterstrikes or by clinching.
Use of feints and dodging will go a long way. You need to attack from a direction that isn't directly opposite their current stance, and dodging can help you open them up for a chain of attacks or combo

maces axes and polearms need skills that are as powerful as master strike because I don't see any reaosn to run anything but a long sword.

Its not a pvp game. The combat is quite easy. Do what you want.

Mirroring their attack is actually countering it. What Ur saying is actually doing master stroke. If someone is attacking u from the right, attack from the left.. that's how you do master strike

No he is talking about how to avoid them master striking you. If you attack someone from the right while their sword is to your left - they can master strike you back.
afaik master strike only available with sword

It's not problem of PvP - just that all other weapon types feel weak since they are lacking Master Strike.

I don't understand their decision to limit it to swords only, when in KCD1 it was all weapon types.
