Earn them through quests. Your bed will allow you to sleep and SAVE. Otherwise it might be some elses and you will be asked to leave/pay a fine.
Most taverns have them for sale and most of the time you are given or buy a bed you have a dialogue option to ask that exact question with the npc that gives/sells you a bed. Rooms holding your bed tend to be marked with a wreath above the door but not always.

There's a bed you can safely use to sleep (but not save) in the northwest corner of Troskowitz. No guards patrol by it and the people working the fields by the shack don't seem to care that you sleep there.

Any roadside camp without people in it can be used to sleep, although I don't believe they allow you to save.

The blacksmith in Tachov will very quickly give you a room with a save bed and a chest after beginning his questline for the wedding. Likewise, the miller in lower semine mill (edit: corrected miller location) will give you a save bed with chest through his questline for the wedding. You can begin both of those questlines and get both beds pretty quickly.

For 120g you can permanently rent a room in the Zhelejov Wagoner's Inn. This room has a save bed and a chest.

For 50g you can permanently rent a "room" at the Troskowitz inn. This has a save bed, but no chest. You'll have to wait for the innkeeper to stop being mad at you for fighting at her inn, which can take a while.

That's the ones I'm aware of so far.

I mean it just shows that a lot of people honestly don't pay attention or use some common sense. You have a place to sleep right at the Herbalist in the beginning in the straw where Hans was laying, and you can go to any Inn to obtain a bed. Some Taverns and other spots will also let you purchase a pile of hay to sleep in and it's yours forever so long as you choose the extended stay option.
