Help: 90h Save Game Gone

I had been loading repeatedly just as I did a really difficult part in the game, and somehow while in game clicked to restart the whole campaign on my save slot. It happened so fast, muscle memory from all those loads back and forth. A bit tired..

And now my save game is completely gone. I so rarely even see a game where it is possible from an ongoing game session, not main menu, to do a mistake like this.

So my question is:

Can I do anything to restore my old saves or have I just killed the entire game for me?

EDIT: FOR ANYONE WHO HAS THIS PROBLEM; DO NOT EXIT THE GAME! Alt+Tab and copy your entire save game directory (if it exists). Then exit and copy+paste the saves back.

If you have exited the game (or your saves are straight up gone), go to https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage to see if you can find your old saves there to download.

A few people have been saved doing these things.

Your save games are located in C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games. If they are gone from there they are gone. Sounds more like a steam cloud error. Can happen if you play the cracked version before you own the game. Not saying you are copying the game. Just that could be an issue. I personal always back up my user folder just in case something happen and i lose all my savegames.

Your save games are located in C:\Users\<user>\Saved Games. If they are gone from there they are gone. Sounds more like a steam cloud error. What happened is that I pressed "Escape" to load the game. The thing is that there is an option there titled "New Game". I accidentally pressed that as I was frustrated and spam clicked having loaded the game 10+ times in a row, and accidentally started a new game and therefore deleting my entire 90 hour playthrough.

Sadly I have check the save folder and it is empty. So is my steam cloud. So I sadly have to restart the game. Phew, that is rough.

Ahh that sucks :/ at least its a good game and maybe wait a few weeks before you start again so you don't burn out. Up to you ofc :)
