Horse purchase bug?
Anyone having the issue where you go to buy a horse, and instead of deducting your horse's value from the new one, it instead gets added on top of the cost? Maybe I'm missing a step somewhere, but I have seen others having the same issue. If I add up the value of the new horse with that of mine, it adds up exactly to what they're trying to sell it to me for. Currently trying to buy a horse in Grund, not sure if it is trader specific, but they have a horse I really want and this ♥♥♥♥ is driving me nuts lol.

I had a look at a horse that was supposed to cost around 4500. The dealer suddenly wanted over 6000. I don't know whether that is then offset against popularity and oratory skills. But my values are actually quite good. It would also be strange if that wasn't taken into account when looking at the horse...
I bought a horse that was cheaper than my original one. Sold Veillantif ($3080) for Kasztanka ($2720). I paid full price for it and wasn't reimbursed for my old one.

It does seem bugged.

I do wish we had the option to keep old horses, even if they return to the sellers' pasture when you're not using them. I'd love to be able to swap. I like Kasztanka's stats but not her looks.

I would try adding up the value of your horse to the new one and see if it lines up with the cost, sounds like you're encountering the same thing. I mean if it has anything to do with reputation, I'm maxed out just about everywhere in the region, along with getting a discount from perks, and from a quest I did recently.

Damn that sucks, I guess it's pretty common, I was hoping this would be fixed soon, but at this rate I'm just gonna have to farm some more Groschen to make up for the cost lol. I was also considering a workaround by just selling my horse to the handler, and walking back and buying the horse outright. At least that way I'm not having to pay extra for literally nothing. Will update later if it works out.

I'd have to test it, but it's possible that I paid to get rid of my old horse on top of buying the new one. I'm an accomplished thief so money isn't an object for me and I wasn't watching very closely, just that I lost a lot of money when I should have made a little bit.

I was really close to doing the same but I got a little suspicious during the trade, that's when I found out. Money hasn't been an issue for me either, but I've been saving up in case I come across something endgame and have all the means to get it without much worry

yeah horsedealer seems a bit buggy.
they are adding the exact value of your current horse on top of it.
plus reloading changes values very weird every time.
old horse 2310 with gear. naked 1800 . horsedealer adds 1,8k
reload horsedealer adds 2310 while horse is still naked and 1,8k worth.
