Musa is literally pointless

I don't think it can be denied that he's literally a token character, added to the game solely because of his skin colour.
Nothing he does in the story is something that needs to happen for the plot to progress, and once he first appears, he just inexplicably shows up to pretty much every major event for the rest of the game. He's basically Poochie.

Because he's an obnoxious know-it-all talking down to a nation that was lightyears ahead of the land he is supposedly from. If he were a Moor from the Iberian peninsula it would still be absurd but more believable. Mali hadn't even made first contact with Europeans yet, and they were by no means an advanced society on the level of eastern Europe at this time. Nothing that he says is truthful at all, but unlike others that lie their asses off like Vaquelin Brabant who is funny as hell, he's played 100% straight.

I didn't fall apart over anything, I explained why he's a token black man in a game that where its creators stated they tried to adhere to historical accuracy, so much so that several weapons and armor types aren't available because they weren't invented yet. Its considerably closer than the Trip Marco Polo took 200 years earlier.
And in the 1300s during the reign of Mansa Musa, trade between Mali and Europe was common.

Where is your outrage over them? They're just as unnecessary to the quest.
But Musa is black. Your problem is that a black person is one of the "useless" persons and you want all your useless persons to be white.
FYI, trade between Mali and Europe existed 100 years before KCD2.

Actually, it would be more likely that Musa would be a slave trader rather than a slave.
In Africa, Musa would be the equivalent of a noble in Europe, or at least a class or two above peasants.
he was a merchant after all.
