"Age of Consent in Gaming: Why 'Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2' Needs an Explicit Content Disclaimer"
Why "Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2" should include a disclaimer about the age of characters involved in violent and sexual content, and why merely tweeting about it is insufficient:

1. Clarity for Consumers:

Legal and Ethical Considerations: Video games rated for mature audiences, like "Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2" which has an M rating, need to explicitly state that all characters involved in adult themes are of legal age. This prevents potential legal issues regarding the depiction of minors in sexual or violent contexts, which could be seen as child exploitation in some jurisdictions.
Transparency: A disclaimer ensures that consumers are fully aware of the content they are purchasing. Without explicit clarification, there might be confusion or assumptions about the characters' ages, which could be particularly problematic given the game's setting in medieval times where age might not be as visually apparent due to historical context and attire.

2. Ethical Representation:

Moral Responsibility: There is an ethical duty for creators to ensure that their content does not inadvertently suggest or imply the involvement of minors in adult or violent scenarios. This is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the game's narrative while respecting the sensitivities of the audience.
Avoiding Misinterpretation: Without a disclaimer, scenes could be misinterpreted or misused, potentially leading to community backlash or damage to the game's reputation.

3. Protecting the Developer's Image:

Reputation Management: Clearly stating the age appropriateness of characters in such scenarios can protect the developers from accusations of insensitivity or irresponsibility regarding content creation.
Long-term Trust: By addressing these concerns upfront, developers can build or maintain trust with their audience, ensuring that players feel the studio is committed to ethical content creation.

4. Limitations of Social Media Communication:

Lack of Permanence and Accessibility: Information shared via tweets or social media posts can be easily missed or lost over time. Not all consumers follow developers on social media, and Twitter's platform might not reach everyone who might need this information.
Formal vs. Informal Channels: A disclaimer within the game itself serves as a formal acknowledgment of the content, which is more authoritative than a tweet. It ensures that this critical information is directly linked to the product, making it impossible to overlook for any consumer.

5. Regulatory Compliance:

Rating Systems: Many regions have strict guidelines on how content is rated, and including such a disclaimer helps in adhering to these standards, potentially affecting how the game is rated or marketed in different countries.
Preventing Backlash: Explicit disclaimers can mitigate potential regulatory scrutiny or public outcry over content that might be seen as inappropriate if not clearly explained.

Conclusion:

While tweeting about content can inform some fans, it is not a robust method for communicating crucial details like the age of characters involved in mature scenes. A disclaimer directly in the game or its documentation ensures that all consumers, regardless of their interaction with social media, are informed about the ethical considerations taken in content creation. This approach not only addresses legal and ethical standards but also enhances consumer trust and understanding of the game's content.

Don't dismiss my concerns as troll farming. I actually want to play this game. I enjoyed KCD1 and was looking forward to KCD2 I don't care about woke or dei I just want a disclaimer because a tweet doesn't do enough.

This sets a precedence for other games and a disclaimer should be required for any game with sexualized content nudity and violence.

Luke Dale (Hans Capon's actor) is 31 years old. There are no children in the game.

Not when there is confusion in the community. Not when anti woke grifters can come out with statements because of that confusion and tarnish a companies integrity without any recourse of defamation.
