Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

Many of the main quests are so poorly designed, which reduces the overall quality of the game.
I’m stuck because I failed to complete the Miskowitz quest in time, unaware that it was a timed quest. The problem is that I’ve made substantial progress since then, and now I have to revert to an older save to continue. The GAME OVER screen states that Hans was executed, which makes no sense because I had already rescued him from prison. I began this quest immediately on the way back after completing the Hans rescue mission.

At the start of the Exodus quest, I accidentally retreated, causing one of the invaders to start punching my allied NPC, who is unkillable. The situation looked ridiculous; I would have accepted a GAME OVER here, but it didn’t happen.

Later in the Exodus quest, during the big final combat in the street, I discovered that the encounter could be entirely avoided by hiding behind a corner and firing a single arrow at the end to trigger the cutscene. I would accept my defeat and GAME OVER here.

After escaping torture during the quest in Trosky Castle, I returned to the cellar, which inadvertently lured some soldiers back. The unkillable NPCs, Zizka and Catherine, began running through the castle, engaging in endless punching fights with fully armored soldiers. The scene looked absurd and persisted throughout the entire quest. I exploited this by simply watching the ridiculous combat and firing arrows. Again, this was a situation where I would have fully accepted a GAME OVER.

The first quest in Trosky Castle can be completed by simply running through the castle without engaging in stealth. While this saved me due to my lack of stealth skills at the time, it left a strange impression and felt like a design flaw.

All these issues leave a bitter taste and, in my opinion, removing or reworking some of these main quests would significantly improve the game’s quality.

Completely agree. Was in love with this game up until being imprisoned at Trosky (the first time). Pacing, writing, player agency all took a massive nose drive after that, unfortunately.

Being taken prisoner once or twice as part of the main story is a fun novelty, but 3 or 4 separate occasions in the same chapter? Wth?? It starts getting real old real fast. At this point I feel that Henry and Hans deserve it lol. The writing here doesn't exactly have me rooting for them, and portrays them as complete morons.

I'm also finding the main quest dialog to be somewhat rambling, incoherent, and over expository at times--as if they are trying to hit an arbitrary word limit. Not sure what happened because I found everything before Trosky to be of very high quality. It feels like the writing team might be inexperienced.

And the amount of times I've had to re-kit my character--my god. Or have had my weapon load out forcefully changed on me for seemingly no justifiable reason leaving me gimped before a surprise 1 vs 9 battle has been pretty annoying. I'm now just finishing up the Dry Devil bit and I'm told the world will open up again, so here's hoping things are better from here on out.

Well I'm enjoying the game I still agree.
The writing in KCD1 felt natural, soulful and was excellent. This game feels more like a netflix series

People are so hungry for good games that they are ready to praise a frankly mediocre game with a touch of woke. The first game is almost better in all aspects than the second, writing, dialogues, quests, music, style, humor, world, and so on. Unfortunately, we now have a game for a wider audience.

I wish they would be less politically correct on their script.. I wanted to hear funny insults and seeing peasants loose their minds but I can only find people with no souls nor authenticity

Quests in this game show they are not tested properly. You either have to be a mind-reader of what the devs wanted you to do and exactly follow the required path.
Or you have to resort to Youtubers who know how to do a specific quest without wasting your playtime. One example: find Goatface, you are running in circles and spending way too much time "'getting the run around" with NPCs that are not helpful.
Just find the Youtube who straightforward shows you where to find Goatface.
All the quest feel bloated, as in : too many, too long (conversations). Not fun.

The game is great. Not sure what you're talking about. if you want Mediocre, the Avowed forums are elsewhere.

I got the same GAME OVER (several days after I accidently met Janosh inMoskowitz)
after spending LOTS of hours in Kuttenberg and around. Also had to load an older save,
Really pissed that these devs do not warn you about this Devils pack is a TIMED mission.
Either poor testing and no QA , OR a complete disrespect of the time gamers put in this game ...?

At times the game can be very... silly, And the whole "we were captured again but it's all good cause yer a noble" got a bit tiresome. Though the writing does go up and down as with any game.

There are some quests I feel they could have added more depth to or alternate failure / options for but it is possible they simply didn't have time or didn't want to completely punish the player in situations like Trosky. Though to be honest it is very easy to stealth even with a low stealth score - just throw rocks.

I was disappointed I couldn't disguise myself as a guard when attempting to save Hans from being executed. What with a guard recognizing me straight away, as soon as I stepped out. This made me very sad.

It’s a paradox: they could make more profit by cutting down and streamlining the main quests and cutscenes. This would reduce costs and make the game better.
game finished, all is forgiven !! Is worth to finish to the end.

Brabant and von Bergov sure came off like I was playing a cartoon. Both were immediately suspicious, and both twist their moustache in the end.

But seriously, a lot of KCD II's main story is still perfectly lined up with the previous game's main story. Henry is still a simple dude getting involved in things well beyond his paygrade and upbringing.
