i got the royal certificate to get the clothes from the tailor but when i go to him i ask for the clothes but doesnt give them and puts me in a dialogue loop

I am in the same boat after playing this game for over 118 hours I hit this bug with the tailor. The dude who gave me the certificate has wondered off and the quest tells me to talk to the Tailor. The tailor just keeps putting me into a loop with no gear given.

You need to equip the hat, top, hose and shoes - and no plate armour on top of it - all metal is removed automatically to my avail.... maybe completely undress and just put those on just in case.

Same here 143 hours into the game and completely locked out of progress in the main quest now.
Only explanation I have is that the quest dialogue is bugged and the tailor doesn't have the clothing at the point we've reached. In every other similar instance where you need to collect an item, it's usually retrievable some other way - but the tailor does not have the clothing either on him nor in his chest, so I assume it's already been given away even though the actual story/dialogue that has led us to this point does not indicate this.
Time to go find that guy that was meant to be the waiter in the first place, even though I don't remember who or where he was lol.

So if you are not fast enough the person who is actually meant to pick up the clothes will come and get them. Go to him and talk to him. He will give you a small speech challenge and then you are able to get them from him.

If someone wants to try since I haven't done this yet can we see if its something pickpocketable? Or in a chest near the tailor?

i ended up going back a couple saves, caught franta kunta right after i saw him take the clothes from the tailor, ended up paying the gold and i got the clothes and finished that quest

Idk, I spoke to the guy that was meant to pick up the clothes before going to the tailor, passed speech checks with him to let me go in his place, then went straight to the tailor - who didn't have the clothes. Would think that if the original waiter guy had already picked up the clothes before that point, he should have given them to me along with the letter when I talked to him?
Not saying you're wrong (I feel like the original waiter did already pick up the clothes) but the quest is definitely bugged that maybe if you do things in a certain particular sequence, the original waiter has already picked up the clothes but tells you to go get them from the tailor anyway instead of offering them to you.

If thats the case I would just steal them from the chest if its bugged or reload from a previous save.

Hey just wanted to come back and update in case you hadn't solved this yet. I waited for the patch hoping it would be fixed, but it wasn't - but I found the clothes. The original waiter (Franta Kuldaun) had them on him, he should still be hanging around where you met him (The Iron Eagle tavern) - you can't talk/interact with him any further, but if you pickpocket him he has the clothes on him - pants, shirt + hat. Finally able to continue with the main quest now!

i cant progress because henry stays frozen when i have to pour the wine. i cant do anything. im without mods and already load a couple of saves but nothings happening HELP
