Player's Homes or Castles?
Am enjoying KCD2 so far.

Since KCD2 is kinda similar to the Skyrim world, as far as it being free-roaming...and the mods for the sim are starting to roll out steadily...

Will there be player homes or castles...or whatever?

How about having the ability to make your own camp for eating and sleeping?

And is there a content creator package available? For those wanting to create their own characters and stuff in the sim. Like was available in Skyrim.

No, you can't own a home/castle in KCD2.
Only beds and in some cases chests so you don't need to travel elsewhere to get your loot stored in those.

there is a possibility that the 2nd dlc that has you rebuild the forge in kuttenberg will have houseing features, tobi said in a german interview that the dlc theoretically would give room for that but its too early to say if the dlc actually will feature housing features or not so nothing guaranteed.

i mean a village has to make sense, you can not just rebuild a village whenever you feel like it, you need to be tasked by the local lord who rules over the land the village is located on. (or at least get his permission)

and there simply is no piece of land in KCD 2 for which this would make any sense
Maybe it's quest related (I'm only 2/3 through the game,) but there's a walled off (with a door) abandoned manor that faces Kuttenberg to the East. If not tied to an undiscovered quest, I'd bet that is planned as a renovation project for Henry...
All the interiors are completely empty, but very clean and give the "private area" flag.
The second DLC is our 'from the ashes' project. I assume it'll have housing as well as the forge/shop.

It would be cool if the modding tools allowed people to build interiors but apparently it's a lot harder for modders to work with than Bethesda's Creation Engine.

There's an upcoming DLC about restoring a forge, and on the Kuttenburg map I found a location flagged as "abandoned forge". It's a walled location with a couple buildings besides the forge, so I'm hoping we'll get some degree of estate management as part of it. Just gonna have to wait and see I guess.

Went and took a couple screenshots, if I'm right then this definitely looks like the kind of thing where you have an entire compound with several buildings you could fix up.

Ha, I just found that place last night and murdered the mercs living there. Thought they might be hiding some top tier loot. Was slightly disappointed.
Bro we're in a new land, basically roaming this area like a nomad. We don't need no home, for what? All we've ever needed was personal storage box and a bed.

Yeah, they’re named characters so that means they’re probably more than just placeholder bandits, but I haven't found anything you can actually do with them other than pull the one dude’s sore tooth out. It makes me more convinced that it is indeed the DLC location, but again we’ll have to wait and see.

Thanks for the replies.

And if a more permanent residence is too much to ask for...how about Henry being able to make a temp campsite...bedroll, campfire, and stuff?

When he is done resting, he breaks up camp and moves on...of course...making sure to douse the campfire with water before leaving.

They could be hired by Henry to help out in one quest.
Also there are underground tunnels in the village with chest with decent loot
