Storm mission bs
Yes im sorry im making one of these posts .... I know a ton of people will say stuff like get gud and master strike and yadda yadda yadda.

This mission has been a pain in my butt and simply because of the tortured debuff makes my strength based character who despite the debuff has about 7 str without potions. yet i swing weapon once or twice and out of breath.

cant stealth kill my way because npcs always seem to wander over right when i do it or guard breaks out and finally...... I tried 5 times tonight thinking outside the box. Instead of going where most where I went to the farther out areas of their search that was full of bushes and trees. 5 fracken times a random patrol finds me as they come up behind me while im sneaking.

Thinking im just missing seeing a patrol or such in that area i wait so i can gather more intel and make a better choice. Nothing, no patrols where going in the area i was going so figured okay go again and watch all around me see what happens. A few minutes in i see a glow of a torch behind me coming from the bushes. thinking damn bad luck guess there is a patrol. and move deeper into the bushes and such to use cover and get out of the way.

This patrol literally did all the same turns I was doing despite not actually seeing me. No bunny was showing and went the same way i was going in every direction until they where right on top of me... They where basicly homed in completely on me then called everyone else to swarm me.... Ya im done with this game i loved it until here... fracken npcs even track you

Its not even just the one patrol example, I literally watched other wandering ones eventually turn around and start heading towards where i was again no bunny showing and didnt matter if i swerved or moves in odd ways to avoid them they always turned to face me and walk towards me until they "Found me" and forced me to fight

Can't say anything but good luck. Honestly I didn't even know there was even a tortured debuff. I just did the quest.
I just crouch followed patrols, behind a dude who was last in a patrol. I don't think I bothered wasting time hiding in a bush.

The only thing annoying about Storm mission is the fact you either abuse 'Save&Quit" option or you try to do it completely overboard and repeat the mission several times as things go wrong at certain points.

It took me 3 tries to get outside of the initial area, which is in my view the most difficult section of the quest It was rather smooth sailing from there.

However, I absolutely suggest that you make save points every once in a while as it is not worth the effort to restart the mission every time you overextend yourself or just have bad luck and NPC decides to turn around just as you approach them for a stealth takedown.

Another suggest I have for those struggling is to create a safe space in different areas of the mission. You can create safe space by removing few guards or servants by knocking them out and carrying them to some hidden place. Once you create this safe space, you can progress further and if things go wrong, you can come back and hide in this safe space. Just be aware that at certain point, the mission effectively resets and guards/servants will be back at their spots.

Any console command to just disable the visuals for the sheet of rain?
I love the thunder storms but rain @ night is total BS, just like KCD1. And it looks horrid, like something from a early 2000s game in that regard.
Leshy perk and just sneak past everyone...
put on stealth clothing
you dont have to kill anyone in this quest...
ridiculous

wore dark clothing, wandering npcs still basicly followed me, used bushes and out of no where paths. wandering npcs followed me through them. What part of NPCS following me despite what i do is not understood.
I really am not joking when i say im watching the NPCS literally do all the same turns and paths im doing and homing in on me for some odd reason.

Yeh, I've noted the same.

When you get out of the cave, kill the two soldiers coming--you can toss stone to distract the one walking past and away from the cave and still sneak on the one in the cave. Once both soldiers are killed, patiently observe patterns and silently ambush one soldier at a time, dispose of him by moving the body to the cave. Once you remove enough soldiers, I recall at least 3 pathing near the cave after a while, you should have a secured space created.

If your character has trained enough before this point, you can start engaging patrolling soldiers directly. They call for help and usually 3 or 4 additional soldiers come. You should be able to clear them as they come if you have Warfare and Sword skill high enough, 15+ is my estimation. You want to save before trying this as at times you can bite more than you might be able to chew.

I have replayed this part several times and did it with minimum killing as well as terminator mode where I killed my way through. It is absolutely possible to do it both ways, the only hard time I had was to do completely stealthy options where it was very tricking to get timing in the forest clearing immediately at the start.
