Closed Helmets Question

In KCD 1 i always used open helmets because i hated the "helmet vision".
In KCD 2 we have the option to open or close them, but is it purely cosmetic or we have a difference in the stats?

There is a diffrence in ur defense and how much dmg u take vs open.
Also, why dont u simply use the mod to remove the vision. closed.

There's a gimp hood helmet...full vision but with a strip of armour down the face.

Pretty sure they put it in for those who like a bit of weird with their hans romance.

So much player choice. You can also get your other "helmet" permanently removed by the people in the Jewish quarter as a quest reward
