The combat is also more fun. I didn't like the first games combat, even tho I played it lots.
Take from that what you will. The combat is similar to 1 but definitely streamlined for noobs.
Weapons other than swords feel like a self nerf when there's no master strike and this will put people off, then swords just feel cheesy and boring with the simplified combat.
Still kcd 1 jank level I mean it I've had a few janky moments, including a guy basically Naruto running 50M in 0.5s.
It gets trickier, the faster they switch, but that's a learning curve for you.
Master strikes are riskier but still very strong.
Honestly, I'm happy with it. The only problem I have as a bow user is switching weapons when in active combat. I usually have to press the key several times for Henry to do something, so it's pretty risky to engage with a range weapon and intending to switch to melee.
Of course, jank and mandatory grinding aren't exactly my idea of a good difficulty curve, but clearly some players think differently, and thus consider KCD1's combat better.
It also makes other weapons than the longsword much worse in comparison. I heard they want to buff those though, so that's good.
