I'm amazed how good this game came out
It's big relief seeing a game coming out without major bugs and game breaking issues unlike many other AA from big companies. Nice example how it should be done. Gladly enjoyed it

Lots of little bugs here and there but haven't run into anything that has made me want to refund the game. Overall an incredible release.

It's awesome - too many great quests to tell

Just played through the serial killer questline, awesome
I didn't expect KCD 2 doing a CD red W3 momentum to be honest...

KCD2 is great game and it released in much better state, in fact incomparable, than KCD1. However, KCD2 is AA game only by very technical definition as all other aspects are AAA--big budget, massive scope, open world, in-house developed or heavily modified engine.

Success of KCD1 and the passion of Warhorse allowed them to pour time and resources into the sequel and it paid off. It is very endearing to see passion projects, even if they are backed by serious $, to succeed in these difficult times for game development industry.

I'm very baffled by how the cry engine is organic with so much system... They are very talented indeed.
Lookin at you obsidian...

I'm also surprised how well the good looks using relatively dated engine. Warhorse Studios obviously heavily modified the engine and developed sub-system for it to accommodate this huge open world with lots of RPG system running in the background.

I'm glad Warhorse did not opt to use UE5 for the game--nothing against EU5 but it gives games certain look and feel. The game also look better in motion while playing it compared to stills or preview videos--I was bit worried viewing early preview videos as the game graphics looked dated.
People's standards are so low now if not having massive game crashing bugs is considered the gold standard. I'd probably call that the bare minimum but people have been eating slop for so long now they don't remember when people took quality assurance seriously.

This game is functional but still full of bugs. Not good for a game that was cooking for 6 years. They needed to playtest it better. I can forgive graphical glitches, open world jank or even the memory leak but its the actual meat of the game that needed more attention. Specifically it feels like they didn't playtest their sidequests and side activities very well. Feels like every time I engage with some type of side content its going to be a coinflip if it works correctly or doesn't.

Full of bugs and stuttering like crazy on PS5, including one where if you reforge sir Radzyg's sword to level 4 and then go back to Trostky, your sword's level will downgrade to level 3 for no reason.

The game is objectively better than KCD1. The game runs almost flawlessly while looking better than KCD1.
Now, which game with large open world and significant story to tell ever released in better or even comparable state? It is definitely not any game from Bethesda or Ubisoft. Hell, even Obsidian's games are often flawed by bugs (say hello to Fallout New Vegas) or lately with much smaller world that do not compare to KCD2 scope.

The game is not perfect, far from it, but it is perfectly playable product that noticeably improved on most, if not all, aspects of its predecessor. It is also surprisingly complex game with many underlying systems that still tries to tell compelling story rather than just letting players play in a sandbox and create stories of their own.
