Hardcore Mode
For many of us who loved the first game and enjoyed the punishing combat, survival mechanics, 'negative' perks, limited UI, and overall immersion, Hardcore was the only mode worth playing. Is KCD2 going to have a Hardcore mode and how will it differ from the the regular, now "streamlined" version of KCD2?

All they have said was that hardcore mode would come after release

I wish there would be hardcore mode straight from the start, but there won't be.

Yeah, I don't understand why they would do that - KCD1's Hardcore mode seemed like it was the Dev's intended way to play the game, whereas if HC comes out after KCD2's release, feels like HC is now an 'after-thought'.

With the first game, hardcore mode was added a few months after the game was released
If there is an option to turn off the hud, that would be great for the added immersion. Then I'd be happy to wait until a 2nd playthrough for HC mode to be added.
I played trough the KCD 4 times. One of them was hardcore. I excpect to play a couple of normal playtroughs before i delve into a hardcore run.
I just hope i can run through tall shrubs and bushes and go into semi deep water without having to use mods this time.

Balancing the economy/damage/loot ect is one of the last things devs do in development of an RPG and hardcore mode is for the most part a rebalance. They'll likely want to see how people do with the game before doing that rebalance. That will save them having to re balance 2 things after launch,

They've also said they don't want to just do what they did before so I'd be expecting them to take some steps forward with the mode when it does launch.

Shrubs and bushes are now non-clippable in KCD II. Thank Lord.

If it were the devs intended way to play the game then it would be the only, or at least default way to play the game. So dumb when people say this
In hardcore mode Henry goes for the world record when it comes to ******* **** ** *** ***.

There are plenty of games where the highest non custom difficulty setting comes with a notation "How the game is meant to be played" by the Devs but also include various other difficulty settings and is not set as default.

I planned on playing normal until I get the lay of the land figured out anyway.. In a day or so I'll probably restart a new game in hardcore mode. I hope they don't wait too long in releasing it.. It's what really made the first game special to many people. Hopefully it's less than a week.
