If I exit the game then launch it again, black screen

Windows 11 Pro 24H2, latest AMD chipset and video drivers, Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 32gb memory, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, 24gb video memory, Changing the resolution or going from full screen to windowed mode does no resolve the issue. Reducing video settings does no change the issue. Monitor is a Samsung Oddessy ARK Gen 2 running at 3840 x 2160.

Prior to 1.3.1, this never happened, ever. I start up pc, launch game, it plays fine for however long I have it running. If I exit the game and then launch it again, the screen turns black (although I can faintly see my mouse cursor), and it stays black until I click anywhere on the screen, then a window pops up with kingdomcome.exe is not responding and I have to exit.

If I reboot, it works fine, until I exit, then I need to reboot to be able to play the game. I have wiped the hard drive and reinstalled eveything again, to no avail. The Windows event logs just state that:
The program KingdomCome.exe version 1.0.0.0 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Security and Maintenance control panel.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? The problem does not happen with any other Steam game that is installed.
