Well, it's on sale within a few months. I did call this but I imagine a lot of people will call me terrible names now.
Title. Just because I called this super-early, I think they realized they messed up their brand so badly that they have to do sales on steam as well (it's already been on sale for console for a long time). Just out of curiosity- do any of the "You are not buying the game because you are a bigoted racist" people have changed their minds at all. I'll totally buy this game at 5-10 bucks because it's probably a great RPG but I absolutely hate Vavre and whoever the "consultants" that wasted all the momentum of KCD1 to do this.
In case anyone is wondering- sold a TON immediately, people decided they didn't like what was in the game, then it took like 2-3 months to get from 2 to 3 million. It'll be interesting to see how long it takes to get to 4 million. I imagine a while since sales when down like 90% as soon as people like me started doing research (normally huge RPGs people try to learn NOTHING about so they can have a fresh experience. That's why so many people bailed on KCD2 so late- they were intentionally staying away from media).
edit: i have hundreds-of-thousands of points: joker or jester things are stupid- you can't even spend them on anything useful.

it's only 15% off
Still early for a "Massively Successful RPG" like they claimed in the early days. Normally this would take a lot longer- discounts are given when the game isn't selling as much- it's a way to boost sales.
somebodies ego feels inflated huh,

you have mental problems my dude seek help
Given how within literally SECONDS of posting this I had several responses- thinking it still an open wound for the KCD2 people. I've never had responses so quick and I imagine it'll be more than 2.
edit- Already been insulted by most posts- I guess the KCD2 population is still the same. I'm going downstairs to get dinner- i would be shocked it the 3 responses do not become like 10 by the time i came back. Not sure why KCD2 because some sort of combative thing.

i also thought it was going to get a sale around the first dlc, it's a business strategy to get more people into the game to sell said dlcs. it's only 15% off, too, normal for a lot of AAA games these days to have these kind of sales 3 months after release.

you completely overestimate the popularity of KCD as an IP and the power of the gamergate people. it took years and heavy sales for KCD to reach its numbers, you amongst one of these people who bought it at a low price. it only has a 11% completion rate, most of the people who bought this game likely thought it was boring jank and dropped it. KCD2 has managed to have a higher completion rate and sell what KCD1 couldn't in over a year in 3 months with no discounts. it has a strong hardcore audience, but weak casual appeal.

as for gamergaters, they had over a month to not purchase the game, from the leaks to its first month. i doubt they truly effected sales to such a degree. you're also assuming the majority of the KCD fanbase was like this, when i feel like there would have been more pushback if that was the case.

I have no idea what "gamergate" is, I was just saying that all the PC people kept saying "It's so successful, it'll NEVER go on sale"- when it was already on sale on console. I imagine this will be more positive proof that it isn't selling so terrifically. Deciding to get into such a volatile social issue doesn't usually work out well.
edit- If anyone doesn't get what going on sale within a couple of months means- it isn't selling great. Steam has certain rules on when things can go on sale- I'm kinda surprised these guys went on sale since it is kinda an admission of defeat on their "It's selling just SO great" claims.

sold over 3 million copies, and was profitable in the first 24 hours, so id say it sold well.
It sold 2 million copies in Feb. It took many months to sell an extra million. The "Social Justice" thing they did hurt their sales quite a bit. Notice they are not celebrating how quickly they sold 3 million like they did with 1 and 2. It's much, much, much slower. I'll buy it at 5 bucks like I did KCD1, but it's not fair to say KCD2 is much of a success. If they DID break even they were paying their people a low wage. All that info is available.
edit- it IS awesome how many people responded so quickly. Thought everyone moved on from this one.

It's been slightly over 3 months since release. They still didn't beat Jurassic World record that had 15% sale in 2 just months after release and then dropped base price 20% down 9 months after release.

So a game that has sold over 3 million copies so far at base price is going to have a sale?
LOL
I'm not sure why you think that's an "ah-ha" moment. LOL

You post something deluded with a sense of smug self satisfaction. Then claim it's an issue of the game or the game's community that people are calling you out for your incorrect self aggrandising.

Games going on sale a quarter of a year after their release is pretty common, if not the norm at this point. The game made it's money back on the first day and has since tripled that now they've reached 3 million sales. Keeping in mind it took the first game 2 years to attain those sales.

You appear to taking information and completely misrepresenting it in attempt to prove your point. It doesn't make you look smart, quite the opposite. You can drop the weird political youtube grifter thing as well.

you're correlating the numbers with something that has no evidence. the "social justice" did not garner nearly enough haters to warrant a huge loss in sales, i have seen too many people who denounce the woke yet happily play the game.

they have been profiting since the first day of sales, as the game has a 41 million dollar budget. like i said, it's a niche game, and its sales reflect that.
