edit- Already been insulted by most posts- I guess the KCD2 population is still the same. I'm going downstairs to get dinner- i would be shocked it the 3 responses do not become like 10 by the time i came back. Not sure why KCD2 because some sort of combative thing.
you completely overestimate the popularity of KCD as an IP and the power of the gamergate people. it took years and heavy sales for KCD to reach its numbers, you amongst one of these people who bought it at a low price. it only has a 11% completion rate, most of the people who bought this game likely thought it was boring jank and dropped it. KCD2 has managed to have a higher completion rate and sell what KCD1 couldn't in over a year in 3 months with no discounts. it has a strong hardcore audience, but weak casual appeal.
as for gamergaters, they had over a month to not purchase the game, from the leaks to its first month. i doubt they truly effected sales to such a degree. you're also assuming the majority of the KCD fanbase was like this, when i feel like there would have been more pushback if that was the case.
edit- If anyone doesn't get what going on sale within a couple of months means- it isn't selling great. Steam has certain rules on when things can go on sale- I'm kinda surprised these guys went on sale since it is kinda an admission of defeat on their "It's selling just SO great" claims.
edit- it IS awesome how many people responded so quickly. Thought everyone moved on from this one.
LOL
I'm not sure why you think that's an "ah-ha" moment. LOL
Games going on sale a quarter of a year after their release is pretty common, if not the norm at this point. The game made it's money back on the first day and has since tripled that now they've reached 3 million sales. Keeping in mind it took the first game 2 years to attain those sales.
You appear to taking information and completely misrepresenting it in attempt to prove your point. It doesn't make you look smart, quite the opposite. You can drop the weird political youtube grifter thing as well.
they have been profiting since the first day of sales, as the game has a 41 million dollar budget. like i said, it's a niche game, and its sales reflect that.
