Kuttenberg tournament time skip softlock bug

When I try to skip time during the waiting phase of the tournament, sometimes, the game breaks and ALL npc's disappear and i am softlocked. This happens less when I wait for the npc fight to start before skipping time, but there is still not any reliable method to not make this happen. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this or guarantee this not happening?
