Good luck! I was panicking when this happened to me. I hope the devs can fix this weird bug.

Edit: forgot to add the link! Might be able to manually fix it, too, as the reply below says.
What's happening is the game is duplicating your list of mods every time it saves. So, if you have 20 mods. First time it saves, you now have 40 listed, second time is 80, etc. It crashes at 400.
Use the mod in the reply above, or maybe you can manually remove the <ModsUsed> section from the save file. Make sure to load the file from the Load menu and not the Continue button.
It's crashing for me and I don't run any mods.
There are a few people in that mod's comments that said the same thing. Seemed to still work for them, though. If it's crashing when you try to save.
Or just open the save file with notepad, and delete whatever is between "<UsedMods> and </UsedMods>". It is near the top of the save file. Should just look like:
<UsedMods></UsedMods>
Pretty sure that is the only thing the save cleaner does. Back it up first, if you are going to try the manual way. Just in case.
Edit: maybe the free / included DLCs are counted in this "UsedMods" section. The items in that list keep duplicating until it reaches the max, and then starts crashing on save. If so, they better fix this soon.
Is the game making a 0kb save file when the game crashes during a save? That is what this mod fixes. Make sure to use it on a save file that isn't 0kb, my "good" saves are ~1500kb +.
And delete any 0kb saves, so you don't accidentally try to load it.
Check out Modlist Cleaner (0kb save crash fix) on Nexus Mods and see if using it fixes your issues.
