here, you must be in opposite position with your sword against your opponent to successfully pull off masterstrike...
At the start of the game it was hard to it pull off because of the very limited time window, KCD2 is nothing compared to that.
In this game the only thing you have to do is to attack normally just from the other direction, but the time window is very big, so even unexperienced players with low level in their skills can do it because they have the whole time from the enemy strike for a counterattack.
So I'd say it's even easier to do master strikes than in the last game, despite the fact you need to attack from the right direction.
Bottom line - I love both games but the combat system is utter, blatant garbage - period.
It's 99% storytelling anyway and shouldn't affect you that much - once you get proper gear you just fk everyone with 1-3 strikes anyway so.... hrm
If you want some real combat and a challenge, play Sekiro - it'll kick your ass until diarrhea comes out of your ♥♥♥♥ - no joke
They made it a lot easier because of all the complaints in KCD1 about how "hard it was". I never thought it was all that hard after getting masterstrike. Even so, once you level up in both games, the combat is trivial.
that is not true at all, lol, have you even played KCD1? all you had to do to perform a master strike in KCD1 was to press perfect block at the very beginning of the opponent's swing, you didn't need to attack at all. and since you don't need to worry about direction while blocking, well...
in KCD2 you at the very least need to choose the right angle, granted, it's still very easy but it was wayyy easier in the first game.
either way, they're still busted AF, so I'd say it's best not to use them, just grab a polearm or something.
I agree, I mean, at least its not just 1button spam like in the first game, but it should've been something like perfect block+right angle riposte or something like that.
