The lockpicking at the miller's chest isn't endless - Henry actually says that he can't learn any more from that lock.
NPCs have been wallhacking since 1.2 - they also see corpses they shouldn't be able see.
Doesn't affect stealth at least.
It's a bit weird though when entering a shop and he greets you while not even being in there yet.
I think it's got to do with them making stealth a bit harder, but the only thing that changed is your noise level - so I guess if a trader hears you outside his shop he starts reacting to it with his greeting.
