Audio/Loudness Equalization Bug
Need help fixing this or at least making it known to the devs. I use loudness equalization settings in windows (otherwise loud audio is too loud and quiet audio is too quiet) but ever since the first major update and still in the hardcore update the game entirely disables the setting, even for applications outside the game. I can't re-enable it and I've tried enabling and re-enabling several sound settings to no avail. I've never had a game take control of my settings and break something like that before, not even KCD2 since it was fine on release.

Similar problem here. I have a simple stereo speaker setup and somehow the game managed to permanently set it to mono. No matter what I do, I can't change it back!

Also, I don't hear voices anymore. Or they're very very quiet.

This all started when I loaded the first savegame I made with patch 1.2.4. Before that, everything was fine.

Yeah, something is wrong with the audio after the patch.

Have the same problem, but it solves when i put on headphones.

Try to disable audio enhancements in windows sound settings.
I tried that yesterday, Pilda, but it didn't help at all. In fact, like Eskinor described it, no change in settings did anything.

However, I uninstalled and reinstalled my audio driver. At first, after a restart it seemed like this didn't help either. But today I find that the Windows sound is fixed, at least. I'm not going to try if it works in game until this issue is resolved.
Audio person here. The OS audio enhancements are a crutch and you'd be better-suited having either an interface or tuner if you're not using headphones. Most motherboards have SPDIF, and I'd highly recommend making use of it

I managed to solve it but I'm honestly not sure what I did differently. After a long time messing around with the Realtek audio console, unplugging and replugging in my headset and all that. What works now is ticking "Enable Audio Enhancements" in Windows sound settings -> Speaker Properties -> Advanced -> Signal Enhancements. I swear I tried this before though and it didn't work, but launching the game unticks said box, tick it again whilst the game is running and it works.
Audio is super ♥♥♥♥♥ - from the start - only way I know to fix it is by restarting
PS: It's gotten WAY worse with 1.2

Absolutely. But since you have only one audio out and the mastering in the game is kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up - only helps to an extend. PLS fix WH, especially the dialogues are pretty annoying from getting screamed at to wisphered that you litterally cant understand (normal conversations in a distance of less than 3m - its all over the place (german loc))

So, the problem is a lot worse in German than it is in English :neon_surprise: I agree, WH should make this problem priority No. 1!
