Where do I find the stones to trow

I need help. I have arrived at the castle and I have to get some stones to throw at the guards to distract them. I know that to do so I have to crouch, but I don't know like you where to find the stones. Can you make me understand how to do it? Thank you

the stones are unlimited and aren't in your inventory. once you crouch, press/hold 'g' on pc or the right joystick on console and you will throw a stone
