Controller support broken?
I'm having a feeling that the controller support in this game is broken. I'm using a PS4 controller. Without the Steam Input translation it doesn't work at all, pressing a button causes it to click twice (menus, inventory, etc.).

Then I just thought I was really bad at combat, so I went to the Nomads to train, Tomcat. I am unable to finish his practice sessions since I'm unable to replicate the moves he is requesting. The second sequence requires an attack from above, from the right, then from the left. But either I just don't swing, there's a long pause and he criticizes me, or it just doesn't recognize it as a fast enough sequence.

Can this be a controller issue?

Well there's a global setting for controllers. If you go to the game's properties, try fiddling around in there.

The game has full controller support so disable Steam Input for the game. Maybe that resolves it.

Had some really funky experiences in this regard with the Yakuza series to the point where the game lagged like hill unless I unplugged the controller before starting the game. Had to start the game until the title screen, plug it back in and it worked just fine :D
After not having booted up this PC in 2 days, this morning I discovered that the A button on my Xbox for Windows controller had just stopped working... on KCD2 exclusively.

It still worked just fine on KCD1. I discovered that going to the controller settings for KCD2 and disabling Steam Input fixed the issue.

Had a somewhat similar issue, as mentioned with the Yakuza game series, all buttons were swapped out for no reason.

Occasionally Steam Input fixes stuff, and occasionally it screws everything up. It's a wee bit wild really :D

Suddenly X was O, Triangle was Square, etc.

The game doesn't work with Steam Input disabled for the PS4 controller. It always duplicates the inputs. I've found several other posts for this and nobody has found a workaround.

I don't know if this is the source of other issues, or the combat training is also just buggy. Sometimes clicking the triggers just doesn't swing the sword.

(For clarity, controller works for all other games, some with Steam Input, some without. It's only this game I've ever encountered a problem.)
