Alchemy is a great way to make money and to take down hordes of enemies or npcs with Henry's special poison, He also makes other Henry's special potions. along with some of the perks I'll make you double the potions for the same amount of ingredients. Make potions right out of the stocks you get a lot of money if you sell it, with the right perks
its very lucrative and fox potions give 50% more xp with max potency (perk)

Hm. Never felt that I need any potions at all. Only to save the game, but I rather buy this off the alchemist than waste time on making it...

The money you get is a joke, there are much much much easier ways of making money. Stealing or just picking up gear from bandits and selling it and so on.
I like alchemy. The perks can make it more forgiving, while also boosting the strength and yield of your potions. If you don't like doing alchemy, even just occasionally, then you probably won't care much about leveling. From what I remember about KCD1, alchemy was a bit more difficult and tedious than in KCD2.
Marigold potions are something you're going to want to have for healing quickly between fights. You can buy them, but the one's you can make yourself are better(and a lot cheaper).

The other thing people forget about is that the exp you gain towards all skills also gives you exp towards your main level, so it's worth training up every skill, even if you don't use it that much.

So only thing is worth in alchemy is marigold right?
Depends on your play style. There are some potions that increase your strength, agility, etc that can come in handy for tough fights, and there are a number of quests where you need to give people various potions. I carry around a couple of almost every potion, but the only one's i use a lot of are savior schnapps and Marigold potions.

I think this highlights the depth of this game as a roleplaying game.
While I agree that it’s a slower route to making more money quickly, if you’re roleplaying honest Henry, herbalism and alchemy are very lucrative (especially when perked out) and it allows you to actively choose between crime in these war effected towns and making an honest wage. It also adds a level of immersion as, if you’ve noticed, towns you have robbed are more suspicious and the npcs are talking about the robberies, as well they tell you to watch out for thieves. If you’re in a town that you haven’t robbed their concerns tend to be about the greater kingdom and their gratitude to have not been swept up completely by the current war.

as this guy says, the level 16 alchemy perk secret of secrets basically reads as "you gain 50% more xp in everything" + the level 4 effects which id say is worth the maybe 20 minutes it takes to get

With Quickfinger you can actually open locks that otherwise are "just too difficult" to even let you attempt.

Really handy for after you clear certain bandit camps and want to get into hard chests.

Bane = easy hunt
Artemisia = extra loot without become overload
Hair o' the Dog + Digestive potion= fast level drinking
I'm on the drug that killed heaps of bandits.

My henry is near permanently tanked and tranq'd.
The top level poisons make the game quite trivial...especially if you equip four weapons and poison all of them and switch between them as the poison wears off. I have literally taken out armies.
It's worth levelling up just for Henry's Fox potions alone. It's usually the first skill I grind out.
