This Game Is a Complete Disaster - My Review
I wanted to love Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. I really did. The first game, despite its jank, had charm, heart, and a level of realism that made it stand out in an industry obsessed with hand-holding and power fantasies. But somehow, against all odds, Warhorse Studios managed to take everything that made the first game great… and absolutely butcher it.

Let’s start with the most glaring issue: the combat. Remember how KCD1 had a unique but flawed melee system that, at its best, made every fight feel like a tense, brutal duel? Well, throw all that in the trash, because KCD2 decided that fluidity and responsiveness were optional. The combat now feels like you're controlling a drunk toddler wearing medieval plate armor. The directional attacks are still clunky, the animations look janky as hell, and enemies are somehow even dumber than before. Instead of improving the AI, Warhorse gave us opponents that either stand around waiting to die or break the laws of physics to parry every attack with superhuman reflexes. Fantastic.

And let’s talk about the story. You’d think after KCD1’s cliffhanger ending, they’d give us a gripping continuation of Henry’s journey. Nope. Instead, we get a half-baked, uninspired plot that drags on for hours, filled with pointless fetch quests, awkward dialogue, and characters so wooden you’d think they were carved straight from Bohemian forests. Henry still acts like a clueless peasant half the time, and the choices you make barely seem to matter.

Then there’s the “improved” RPG mechanics. Guess what? They took the skill progression system, which was one of the first game’s most beloved aspects, and made it worse. Leveling feels slower, perks are somehow even more useless, and instead of meaningful progression, you’re forced into repetitive grinding just to feel competent. Oh, and good luck with the economy—because once again, Henry turns into a medieval Jeff Bezos within a few hours of looting bandits.

But perhaps the biggest insult is the game’s performance. Did Warhorse learn from the first game’s technical struggles? Absolutely not. KCD2 is a buggy, stuttering mess. Expect crashes, broken quests, and physics glitches that will send your horse flying into the stratosphere at random. And let’s not even start on the horrendous NPC pathfinding, where villagers will casually phase through doors or stand in place like medieval mannequins. Immersion-breaking doesn’t even begin to describe it.

In short, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is an unpolished, frustrating slog that squanders all of its potential. Warhorse had YEARS to improve on their formula, and instead, they delivered a game that somehow feels less enjoyable than its predecessor. If you’re expecting a deep, immersive medieval RPG, prepare for disappointment—because this is just a broken mess wrapped in nostalgia bait.

You wrote an opinion and some provable lies, and presented them both as facts. That's naughty.
You don't like the game, I'm cool with that. I just wonder why you're here whining. Go do something else. Meanwhile I'll go dominate a tournament in Kuttenberg.

What do you consider provable lies in the original Post?

I can go up to an enemy where basically touching them, and somehow "miss" multiple swings, as if they are just another superimposed image that doesn't exist in physical space. But then when the little "star" icon appears and I'm actually in combat, it will hit. However, when the locked on icon first appears, i can't immediately attack. I can spam to attack in that moment, and nothing happens except the block icon appears. I can block and counter, but if I just try to follow through and continue my attack, nothing will happen. I won't swing at all, the enemy will attack, and I'll get hit for not blocking... when I didn't even need to block, because they were wide open for an attack. Its just that Henry refuses to respond in that moment...

I can't figure how to get there star/lock on icon to appear before I approach so I can actually get a hit upon running up. I have to swing through them and dance around for a second until they turn and engage, and it appears and I can THEN contact them.

It's INSANELY frustrating, I don't get it.. it feels more like the combat is less of a fully dynamic and fluid experience where you have total control, and nore of an impressively disguised quick-time event, that had go lock and flow into set animations. It's like characters exist in "states" and the game has to load in the combat state, and queue up the animations before you can attack/damage anyone, and it takes a sec for everything to "align" before you can actually begin combat. Then when you do, every attack is timed and has a set animations and response that must play. So, if an enemy begins an attack and instead of responding with a block, you try to attack first and cut off their attack, the game just considers it the "incorrect answer" and you do nothing and just stand there and get hit. Also, the enemy takes a step 6 inches away, and your swing misses, and you can't swing again because you're already so tired you're on the verge of passing out from swinging a sword twice...

It just feels SOO bad and unsatisfying and frustrating to push through, like the game is always cheating your or screwing you over with something totally nonsense. The game itself is great, but the flow and feel of the sword play has to be by far some of the worst and most annoying combat i have ever experienced in any game. It's beyond terrible, and I hate how much it contrasts against the rest of the game and how good it is. I push trough and just try to deal with it, but God is it ridiculous and frustrating. Half the time it feels just plain broken, like something is lagging or my mouse isn't working.

The save system, or lack of saves rather, makes it even worse, cause you can't always quick save and it consistently feels unfair and like the game screws you in combat for things that aren't your fault, or SHOULD have went differently. But i guess it says a lot about the quality of the game, though, when I'm willing to push through such terrible and masochistic experiences with combat to experience the rest of the game. I'm not sure if the gameplay is much better than KCD1, the visuals and world are at least, but the combat of KCD1 was undeniably superior for most encounters, ESPECIALLY 1v1 encounters.

Im really glad Warhorse decided it was a good idea to make the Pre order "EXLUSIVE" a buyable DLC, cuz people where whining. Not scummy at all.

I mean, does it really matter? We're you not going to buy the game if they didn't give you a pre-order incentive, or you missed out on the bonus item wirh a pre-order? Does it give anybody an advantage? Do you even use it?

Nobody buys a game solely on the pre-order bonus. It's just that, an irrelevant little extra that just sounds good in marketing. Not anything that actually matters, and if anything it's more scummy locking it to a pre-order. You still made out by getting it for free, when everyone else has to pay. So they still held up their deal on the pre-order "exclusive" by not charging you in exchange for your pre-order.

That's how this SHOULD work. A bonus for pre-order is a gift, or free item. Available for everyone, but only those who pre-order get it for free. Otherwise, why waste time and money on content that nobody will ever get the chance to experience if they buy the game when it ACTUALLY LAUNCHES or ANY TIME AFTER. Especially if they can SELL that item.

Why do you care? It's really not even that good of an armor set. Once you get to Kuttenberg, the armor for sale at every armorer spanks that set

Why is this forum flooded with accounts who does not even have the game and write floppy AI rage bait texts... very sad. There should be a quick way to downvote spam posts like this

So you found KCD1 a masterpiece in 1 hr 30 mins of game play.... and KCD2 a disaster in zero minutes?
This current generation of TROLLS is just embarrassing to us OG trolls.
