Your enemies are conscious, they're aware, and they can do nothing about being killed. I prefer Bane.
I once made the mistake of killing a bandit a split second after he surrendered (my blow was already on the way!) but in view of a caravan.
The entire bloody map decided I was a cold-blooded murderer.
Bane takes care of that too. :)
Otherwise I'd just bash everyone's head in really to save time - as said, 4th playthrough ;)
Bane poisoned an NPC once and was like... oh... ♥♥♥♥... so I tried dollmaker.... ohh... ♥♥♥♥, then I went for lullaby and everything was friendly again :)
