How do you pray at a shrine or cross?

I have the fundamentals of theology thing but when I approach a shrine there is no option. Nothing pops up.
I've tried crouching but that still does nothing.
Tried it at the Semine town one and the one on the road south of Troskowitz,
What am I missing?

Circle it, you can only from what I've noticed pray at shrines from a particular angle to the shrine. Might just have to hunt for it

I've circled around several times while facing it. I've switched outfits, I've moved back and forth.
Nothing changes. I see videos of people doing it with no issue. Walk right up and get the prompt to pray.
I'm doing exactly what they do but nothing happens.

Ahhhhh sounds like a possible bug then. I'd make a report in the bugs/feedback section just to be safe

Yes, I just walk up and click ‘pray’, as others say. So perhaps a bug in your case..

Is it marked as a shrine on the map? Not all standing cross lookalikes are shrines.

Yes. I haven't noticed any that were not marked.

Don’t you need the Liberal Arts perk to pray at shrines?

You need have to unlock Scholarship Perk "Fundamentals of Theology" for this!! Than you will can pray and get some buffs after pray.

there are some situations ingame where you are "trapped" in the quest and where you cant advance the time. there will be the message "hurry up, you dont have time". i can imagine, this will also prevent you from using shrines properly. would be nice, if someone could confirm this.

I can confirm that while I can start to pray in the chapel at Trotsky during the ending sequences of the first act, I have been unable to finish.

I've got that as well. I don't know if you can have the fundamentals without liberal arts but I do have that as well.

Well it literally says that with that perk you can pray at shrines, just never enabled it.
