Healing ointment??

Trying to heal a dude who bruised his ribs and dislocated some toes. It gives me an option to “apply healing ointment”, which I’ve never seen nor heard of in 220+ hours of gameplay. It will not allow me to choose marigold decoction, and googling “kcd 2 healing ointment” brings up nothing. So what’s the deal here? Am I supposed to go find some specific trader for ointment I’ve never heard of or is it just bugged?

Chamomile decoction is the correct potion, and yeah it could've been communicated better.

You're sure you have one in your inventory? Every other place where I was supposed to spread ointment the answer was always chamomile. You might have to google the quest name and find a walkthrough cuz I don't don't know why that isn't working.

I have 2 strong chamomile brew. Is there another version that’s a decoction as opposed to a brew? Or maybe it needs to be regular strength?

Look up an online guide for that specific quest. It will tell you exactly the potion you need.

I think there are 3 or 4 of "diagnose and treat" quests in the game.

Any chamomile would do, as far as I know the quality doesn't matter. I googled it and saw a reddit thread where someone said embrocation was their solution, not sure if it's for the same guy but you can try that.

That might be the guy that needs the Embrocation potion. There is one that does I know. Another needs Buck's Blood, but he drinks it.
