Do you play with "liberal arts" skill?
I didn't realize how it would show when I applied it and only then noticed how it broke all the immersion in dialogs. Much more interesting to just guess the answers and see what happens. Reloaded and kept it off. Do you people play with this one on?

Yes. It is useful and saves you time and reputation.
I maxed speech and scholarship as quickly as possible, and found myself a set of 30-charisma gear right away.

Being silver-tongued makes the questing in this game a lot more enjoyable IMO, because failing speech checks just results in more fighting (which uses up armorors kits) and less interesting dialogue options.

I don’t personally care for making speech checks more difficult by avoiding a specific perk. Liberal arts allows you to not fail speech checks before all your skills are high enough to give you more freedom to choose any option.

What? Hard or easy skill check is not the same as the right or wrong choice.

Liberal Arts perk does not tell you what option is the best or most efficient. The fact a skill check is hard or easy does not mean it is effective more or less. The perk also does not take into consideration any external factors such as your clothing, cleanliness or what is the inclination of the person you are trying to persuade.

Sort of. Most speech options don’t really matter except for a little bit of reputation fluctuation.

If you’re wearing impressive armor that also has high charisma, you can safely choose both the intimidate and appeal to authority speech options.

With high speech, the only different between the charm and coercion is a reputation hit for the coercion.

I have good armor but I'm mostly bloody, unwashed and absolutely drunk. Yesterday I made sure when doing quest of getting some dead guy out of the pig sh1t, to do some extra swimming rounds in it, and then marched proudly through the village with some nice comments from villagers. Tbh my Henry is absolutely insane murderhobo, so less charisma, the more authentic it is.

Just think of it as being able to read people.
Yes I do.

Just imagine it as an empathy indicator.

There's some poker players with an amazing ability to read folk.
I only have it because I want to use the fundamental perks. They're the best perks in the scholarship tree aside from explorer.

If that's how you want to roleplay, stick to always wearing armor, and you can kill and butcher an animal to cover yourself in blood, which will boost your intimidation.

Personally, I prefer to rizz people whenever possible, because lowering your reputation too far in an area makes the game way more difficult. You need supplies and hotel rooms to survive in KCD, and if your rep gets too low, NPCs will refuse to talk to you.
You mean the perk?

I'm more of an Alchemist - bam in the Lion's perfume and tadaaa - it's OP AF
If this was a Bioware game, I'd even fk Mutt with that perfume :D
It's really like: Skill-Check.... mhm

That's good in the early game, but thanks to jewelry and certain perks you can get partway through the story, maxing charisma is super easy even without perfume, making it the most reliable speech check.

I burgled nice clothes from Von Bergov's castle, and by the time I reached Suchdol, they were no longer marked stolen. Boom, max rizz for the rest of the game.
There's unfortunately little to none proper skill checks in the game

It's way more about storytelling and it's AMAZING - as in ahhhhhh

Nevermind me though ;) - you'll find out
