Cant get out my weapon?

So many times I die because Henry won't draw his weapon or draw when I swap to a different one. D-Pad Left + A right? Wont do ♥♥♥♥ sometimes and I dont know why.

Press 1 on the keyboard.
Or 2, 3, 4 depends which weapon you want to use.

If you can't sit by the PC, buy a wireless keyboard.

I don't what a d pad is but I push 1-4 depending on which slot i have the weapon equipped

I have the same experience. Sometimes he just doesn't react or reacts too slowly. It doesn't happen to me too often, but I have had several experiences where I shot an enemy and then tried to switch from a bow to a sword and Henry did nothing. I don't know why that happens, but I have died because of this before too.

Normally have to save and quit and restart when this happens, you just get stuck on the weapon you have. There's also the bug where your first attack in combat doesn't trigger, you have to attack a few times for it to start working.

I still prefer playing with controller but it's annoying and needs patched ASAP.

It's sluggish changing weapons for me in general. I'm replaying KCD 1 and the issue isn't in that game. Henry takes his sweet time changing weapons in this one.

Yep, it’s awful with controller. We need some kind of shortcuts similar to KB/M.

Did you get hit by enemies when you're trying to switch weapons?
If you get hit by enemies it kinda slow/cancelled.. i often run and get some distance during fights if I wanna switch weapons/drink potions.

If you want to draw the weapon you have equipped, you don't have to press dpad left + A. Just press X, or square if using a PS5 controller. You still have to do the dpad left + A nonsense to switch to a different weapon and draw it, but for an equipped one, just press X.

Yeah the gamepad controls are very janky. The way you unholster a weapon is idiotic. Also sometimes Henry doesn't strike immediately after the button press or gets stuck for a second before he's able to turn to the next opponent. The stealth kill button appears/disappears seemingly randomly when you stand behind the person. As far as changing weapons, I don't even bother. It's whatever is equipped, that's what they'll eat (the sword).
I don't find the combat particularly difficult, but I do feel like sometimes I'm fighting the opponent and the controls at the same time. It's nice when it does work though.

That's what I use all the time (X on XB). The problem is with switching weapons, not drawing.

It does it even when not hit by anyone too. I just had a thing where I got so pissed I had to turn off the game. I killed 4 people with my bow and had one guy left but ran out of ammo. I was trying to pull my sword for what seemed like a full minute before the last enemy even got near me. I could not put away the bow or pull another weapon. I ended up just having to stand there stun-locked and getting beat to death.

F**k where do they tell you that you can use X to draw weapon ?
In some fights I have to use fists because the f**g 1-4 just don't work...

Changing weapons sucks, period - in certain situations though you are prohibited from equipping a bow or crossbow - it's not properly made clear though.

And sometimes it just bugs out and you are stuck with your crossbow for no reason.

It's a simple bug that occasionally happens, not a big deal really

Pulling and switching weapons is pretty sluggish.
