Equip the halberd but as soon as you reach the compound, swap to any weapon you are trained in or suggest the night stealth route to the quest giver.
Couldn't make the stealth route, we got spotted too quickly by the sentry...
Using Reforged Radzig sword indeed, but you can do it as soon as you enter Kuttenberg map, so nothing unexpected
In the current playthrough I went to frontal attack with a simple short sword (basilard) from the first map and managed it.
Would I try with a halberd, sure, but only if trained with it, I just wasn't.
What I did!
That's the common problem with any pole weapon in this game - it is getting broken surprisingly fast.
I don't think I bothered to pick it up, then told him I'll do it the quiet stabby way.
