Bellatores quest - Why the f***g halberd ?
In this quest the questgiver knight insists you get an Halberd that you can loot enroute
Did it, then the fight with Cumans broke out and it's in close quarters in ruins, the thing is useless and I nearly died before getting my sword !
WTF is this advice ??

It's the game trolling the player.
Equip the halberd but as soon as you reach the compound, swap to any weapon you are trained in or suggest the night stealth route to the quest giver.

That's a bit lame
Couldn't make the stealth route, we got spotted too quickly by the sentry...

Your equipment is too flashy then. I managed it, but wasn't easily spottable.

Using Reforged Radzig sword indeed, but you can do it as soon as you enter Kuttenberg map, so nothing unexpected
No no, I mean the stealth route. I did it in my first playthrough.
In the current playthrough I went to frontal attack with a simple short sword (basilard) from the first map and managed it.
Would I try with a halberd, sure, but only if trained with it, I just wasn't.

Halberd on stealth route makes no sense, neither in close quarter combat where a shortsword is way better, so it's only a trap
its optional to pick up hallberd, and never have to use it after that

Thought as much but as the guy insisted I did it, bummer
he insist you pick it up, as I insist you stop complain for nothing
just pick it up and equip on 1st slot, then use ur preferred weapon on your 2nd slot lol.. speaking of stealth, just use the cutpurse set with high stealth level would be more than enough, high stealth lvl affects how hard/easy people detect you when crouching. I manage to get past all of the cumans by throwing stones to distract them..
Eventually there's a dialog option to tell him no, I won't use it.

Stop ranting Pappy, I was just asking if there is some hidden reason to us ethat halberd

What I did!
idk, I just throw it away the moment I looked at the stats. No problems with that.

That's the common problem with any pole weapon in this game - it is getting broken surprisingly fast.

Polearms are pretty weak in general, and the halberd he wants you to use is only middle-of-the-pack in terms of quality too I didn't use it and dumped it as soon as I could. Polearms are supposed to be getting a buff soon, so I'm looking forward to that.
Wait until it gets buffed along with the others polearms in the patch.

I don't think I bothered to pick it up, then told him I'll do it the quiet stabby way.
