My condolences on buying Avowed.
If it was mid-budget, it shouldn't have been $70 USD and have a multi-trillion dollar publisher behind it...
"Why isn't it like this other game." is the lowest form of game critique after "why are there minorities in it?". As far as I'm aware, Avowed never aspired to be like Oblivion.
The pricing is not dictated by budget either. The Outer Worlds was developed on an under 30 million dollar budget and was still sold at a full price on release.
You can think the game is bad. I started out with pointing out how people get weird about how much they dislike it.
