Is there any way to wait for the black market horse handler without horse leaving?

I steal horses at night, obviously. But the vendor isn't out at night, and I can't wait on the horse. I assume if I wait on foot the stolen horse will leave, right? Is there any way to sell the horse without afking a while or fast traveling back and forth (risking bandits and losing the horse anyways)?

Has anyone found a way around no passing time on horseback? Can I wedge it into a tent or something?

I have a different one. I stole a horse from two bandits I killed. Fast traveled to the horse trader during the day.

When I got there my stolen horse was gone, even though I rode it to the vendor....

If you leave the horse on the designated selling spot (in Kuttenberg region at least), the one with the flag post, they didn't leave their spot even when I skipped time and allowed me to sell them the next morning.

Yep,got to ho to the flag. And I dont think fast travel counts, if I recall ypu need to ride, but its been a while since I did it.

Fast travel didn't mess it up for me, but if there was an ambush I was always immediately thrown and it would run off.
