They were really historically accurate with the styles and trends of the time, if you go by the Charisma rating they give you for things you'll end up finding some of the weirdest, garish colour and brocade combinations give you the highest Charisma and that's how it was
Yep, the Vibrancy and colour amount back then was everything.
Nowadays we have grey. Black. White. and if you're feeling rebellious; Beige.
