Mutt is always in the way during fights
No idea how often I hurt Mutt accidently when he runs into attacks meant for foes...
Hopefully his combat behavior gets patched, or you shouldnt be able to hurt him at all, as player.

yep, after 60h of gameplay I finally decided to send him home. Best decision I've ever made.
Also his constant barking drove me crazy.
Yeah, Mutt is beyond useless. I hit him two times more than the enemy. Also when walking or sneaking, he is an absolute pest. I learned to just leave him sitting somewhere and call him in only when I truly need him. What pisses me off the most are these endless dacess of his.

Yeah g but regarding to stealing/infiltrating I am pretty sure its meant to work like that. He is useful for hunting tough.

I play heavliy modded, difficulty ramped up to the extreme. Early game when you get into 4vs1 type of fights, Mutt is very useful. He is also great at finishing.

But one of the first mods I installe was removing the crowling when crouching, and have him bark much mroe quiet with a smaller radius (for the player). Helped a lot.

Yeah the barking is annoying as ♥♥♥♥. I don't understand why every single game dog needs to be obnoxious noisy ♥♥♥♥♥♥. I hate it in real life and I hate it in games too.

I'm more curious why they felt the growl had to stay in the game. And why their playtesters didn't mention how annyoing it was.

More so the barking, somehow funny. There are lots of stories about people killing dogs because of the barking in those times. But then again, for gameplay I would have loved to even have a feature that would allow you to "train" Mutt, and actually have him bark less, walk beside you instead of in front of you, and don't plump his ass down in door openings, ignoring commands all together. The latter is likely a pathing bug, but everything else would have been appreciated. So he only barks or disrupts you stealthy moments, when you command him. Too often did I try to rob a house, and 3 guards are chasing Mutt right to me, because the fool of a dog can't even listen to basic commands at/near max level.
It was like this in the first game too, While he has his uses, I always send him home
He is mega helpful in the early game. Even with wolves I don't think I have every chopped him. Generally I whack enemies in their backs when they are busy with Mutt. Couple of chops and they're down. I found him super useful. Late game he isn't needed as much as I'm wrapped in Nuremberg knights armour and have very good weapons that I'm very good with. Once you get the master strike down and attack instead of block with the opposite strike enemies fall fast.
