Im imagining Henry in the Deadly Premonition fishing minigame.

Issue is that the food system is just so simple, it's not even worth mentioning.

Also would have preferred a proper cooking system but since the food system is next to non-existent, what would be the point?

In KCD1 you could "enhance" it by going hardcore + all debuffs, but even that was easy.
I've been learning recipes from Janosh at the Devil's Den. Not sure if there is any game value to it, but it seems like the devs were toying with ideas about cooking too?
Being able to use some of those, otherwise useless, spices in the game would be nice but I don't really want my Henry to be hosting a new show on the Food Network.
Like cooking with pepper to extend the time before it is considered spoiled, to take one example from history.
A complete fishing mod with even a fishing perk system would be really nice.
I'd be happy enough if I could start a fire in a campsite or heart that's cold.

Based on what we've seen from KCD2 hardcore, it's going to be the same, pretty easy. As soon as you get 10 hours in, Savior Schnapps trivialize the game.
