I need to clear this up about feinting.

So I have heard, that I have to hold left button on mouse and then quickly change it to other direction. But I am little bit confused when exactly I have to release the LMB to successfully perform feint. Before the quick change of direction or immediately after changing direction?

Does the position of opponent's weapon have influence on, whether I successfully make the feint.
