Thank you for patching hans to no longer be underage
Recently a patch edited the bio of hans capon to be EXPLICITLY stated to be 21, rather than the presumed 15 from the dates in the bio.

This is highly appreciated to help give legal protections to effected users / prospective buyers of the game.

Thank you warhorse studios!!!

Who cares ? At the time and following the codex ppl were having birth as soon as they were able too, so early teenagers etc.
If some president or whoever states now that in the 21th century majority is at 30, will the medieval games need to adapt too ? Really ?

Because it brought on legal liability / steam TOS violation before. Its very possible that if you had it on your hard drive before that you could be arrested for possession of obscene imagery / depictions of minors, which are very serious charges. So we are grateful to warhorse studios for protecting its customers.

Plenty of people care, including you.

Funny that "something that wasn't a problem at all" had to be fixed.

Yeah obviously, I'm surprised but ok

Indeed, I'm very grateful warhorse studios had the wisdom to recognize the legal liability of an implied underage scene, and the damages it could have on not just them, but its customers. You don't see many companies caring enough anymore like this, to patch out things that could get people arrested.

Truly warhorse is a great company to protect people like this.

Maybe in 100 years our kids and grand kids will need to play games as elders just to be safe :steamhappy:
But yeah don't take me wrong I undersstand your concerns.

It was never actually a problem outside of people just looking to dogpile on anything they can. It was obvious Hans was not a teenager but because of the codex about Jan's a group of people decided to say he was.

Hans was always 21 and nothing has changed about him, this just shuts up the people trying to make an issue out of nothing.

It it was such a massive problem then a number change wouldn't be all that was necessary to solve it.

It actually is in MANY provinces and jurisdictions. Them being clearly listed as "over18" (or whatever age per region) is important, but more importantly since the ages derived from the LISTED canonical dates listed him as 15, it would be considered by many courts to be a lewd depiction of a 15 year old which makes huge legal problems and puts people at risk for "possession" charges, and it wouldn't even be "vague", because its age was clearly defined, making a pretty open shut case if a prosecutor felt like it.

I'm glad warhorse studios had the sense of mind to patch this out to protect customers, even if you think it silly, it DID violate the letter of the law, and could be used to persecute people just for having the game installed.

Last thing anyone wanted was people doing the shuffle because they owned a video game.

The real Jan Ptáček would be happy. Even though Warhorse has soiled his memory for all time by portraying him as someone condemned to eternal damnation at least he doesn't make the developers look bad anymore.

Sure it's nice to stop the whining. Anyone with eyes could see the dude wasn't 15.

He's whiny (extremely whiny) and slightly immature... But in no one's right mind did he look or act 15
