Not in the default game. Maybe a mod?

Horseshoes are a nightmare. I curse every time I had to make one.

There's one in nexus mods - but you don't REALLY need it. Two points - horseshoes are worthless and you dont need to make any more of them than you yourself might use, and 2. They are easier than you think. Find a start, then make SMALL adjustments with your mouse. Don't make big moves for the next strike. Just little ones.

I will try this. Had no issues with axes or swords, but the horseshoes were bothering me. Makes sense what you said about only making what i need.
Is that me or longswords bug out and blade goes "into" the anvil when smithing the middle of the blade ?
The best way to fix this is to make more horseshoes. You get the pattern down after a while, or just make like 10 in one go for the quests that require them and never make any more other than for upgrading your own horse.
Oh, and the ones I've found that require horseshoes, there's no difference in which horseshoes you give them, so the better ones are just for you or to sell anyway. Forging expertise also has no effect on them, so...

I've had that happen. Seems to be an occasional glitch, but restarting the game has always fixed it for me.

I also found horseshoes to be difficult, the thing that helped me was lining the hammer up with the horseshoe before each hit, move a little at a time and use your mouse to follow the U shape, making sure to smack the bottom middle and then back up the other side. Aiming the hammer before each hit is slower but you can always just heat the horseshoe up again

Not just you, it's a bug. Does the same with the forge and smithing sometimes. You can switch weapons, back out and restart, go to a different one, or quit and restart the game If none of those fix it. Don't even try to use the grinding stone If Mutt is next to it, If he breaks your access to it, that causes it for me, most of the time.

And always save before making a weapon in case that does happen. If it's inside the forge, it'll be really weird in the anvil too and mess you up.

There also is no quality on horseshoes so as long as you finish you did well.
Guys, I didn't read through everything here, but in case it was not mentioned:
- The TRICK is to move the hammer while it's down, and then hit it!
Next they'll be aiming for aim assist.

If it goes ping, you hit it. If it thuds and Henry starts being passive aggressive, you hit the same spot too many times.

If it thuds and no sparky things happen, you missed.
Horseshoes has no quality level so you can't screw it up when you hammer it rapidly willy nilly.
