Jindřich has orders from Royal Hetman Racek Kobyla and sir Hanush of Lipa - to establish diplomatic cooperation with Otto von Bergau. Direct orders have priority over the local political situation. But barbaric barbaric violation of medieval law has higher priority, than direct orders. Especially if it touches estate laws.
I fecked this mission up and another, It really matters later in the game. Not huge but you may regret your decision. I dont want to spoil anything so I will just say. Go with your gut and do what you feel is right. Nothing you can not talk or lie your way out of.
Oh and you can skip that quest entirely with the correct dialogue.
