Lockpicking is too hard even on "easy" level
Do you also have a problem with lockpicking? The "gold" area is so small that it's just impossible to hold it here while rotating even for "easy" locks. At least on PC with keyboard and mouse.

Trying to do a main quest that requires some lockpicking and I just stuck there

You just seem to get it after a bit of practice - the higher skill levels help. Pick pocket sleeping people to rank up the skill first if needed.
its really hard at first it takes awhile leveling up before it becomes kind of an easy mini game, the beginning was a struggle
Takes leveling and practice.. If you haven't gotten there yet, eventually I forget the town, the south-westest one, it's thief related and they have a practice chest there you can well, practice on. With higher skill they get easier. Also if you're using a controller good luck on any level, lockpicking is the one time in the game I switch to mouse.
This is the same "easy" lockpicking for console peasants like myself from KCD 1.

The answer is mostly stat based, even a couple more levels will make you wonder why you had an issue in the first place.

It's bugged, as well as blacksmithing mini-game - just wait for patches.
by level 30 even very hard locks are trivial, just get your level up on very east locks.

Use a potion. It comes when you get it you have it. I played one so I kind of already had it. I did not struggle like I did in one. Also I found it much easier using KB/M instead of controller, If you got the cash look for skill books on thieving and you can buy skill at some Millers who will teach you.

I hated lock picking when I started the game but by the time I finished the game last night I was picking even very hard locks with no problems using the PS5 Controller.

Practice on very easy locks to level up, read the skill books or pay to learn from the miller and you'll be laughing how easy it is. Also, buy or brew quickginger potion for the boost

Please go to the miller and train on the very easy chest there.
There are free lockpicks that regularly refreshes. And you can practice on the chest many times.

It's not a you problem. It's simply a matter of thievery skill level. Once your thievery is high, there is basically no difference between chests of different difficulty.
omg now they gonna make the game more easier... this game is so easy that I stopped playing it

Pick more locks. gets easier higher the level:otaznicek:
During a livestream where Luke Dale (Hans Capon) was lockpicking several things in KCD2, he seems really good at it, having no problems with it, and stated he actually likes it and finds it satisfying.
There is a potion. Like so much in this game, the difficulty of one skill pushes you to advance another skill. Lockpicking is hard, but much easier with a potion, until you gain more experience. But when you make potions and become a master--at about halfway, 16--then, you can pick anything. When you get into the level 20-30, you won't need a potion to pick any lock. It's all about experience, and leveling up. You know, the grind.

If you use keyboard and mouse it becomes ridiculously easy with some skill and a couple of key perks. But starting out with low skill it is super hard
