Any way to finish for whom the bell tolls without crime?
Is there a way to beat this quest without lockpicking or stealing?

Edit:
My last hope was passing the thievery skill check with Katherine to see if she unlocked the ingredients chest, but she doesn't.
Currently there is no way to complete this quest without crime, thus a no crime run of KCD2 is impossible.

Edit 2:
For those wondering, the least ammount of crime you can end for whom the bell tolls is:
1 item stolen, 0.1 groschen value stolen, 2 locks picked, or you pick only 1 lock and steal the ginger too.

Why do you care to do so? If they don't catch you after the quest there won't be any crime records on the castle

Because I'm trying to do a 0 crime run and am stuck in this quest.

On first glance it's impossible to get the fever tonicum ingredients without stealing...

Might be possible if you pass the thievery skill check with Katherine, suposedly she will unlock the chest for you, but I don't know if the herbs will count as stolen or not...

Passing that skill check might be possible if you read the thievery skill book, use the trainers and the thievery +4 buff from drinking perk and pacifist buff, it might be possible to get around 12 thievery with all that without stealing nothing.

However, that will require me to reload before the wedding to get properly prepared.

I might mod the game to check out if it is really possible though.

No matter what I try, I can't get any further on this damn quest. What garbage.
All the tips I found on the internet don't work. This game probably ends for me at this point. I could really puke that the developers have made this quest virtually unmanageable. Overall, the difficulty level for beginners in this genre is absolutely antisocial and unfair.

Yes. While this is a quite complex mission, there is a shortcut which is very easy to miss. Good description is here: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/kingdom-come-deliverance-2-for-whom-the-bell-tolls-walkthrough#other-things-to-do

The quest is not that hard to finish by traditional means.
The fastest way would be:

First, if you have good speech or scholarship, 10+, you can skip most of the quest by just climbing down the wheel and reaching the kitchen to talk to the chamberlain... Brew his potion by robbing the charcoal and lockpick from the blacksmith's shelf and looting nettle and thistle from the courtyard or by robbing the chest by the alchemy table.
After that, brew the fever tonicum or steal it from the scribe.
The recipes are in the journal found in the surgeon's chambers shelf.
After you give the chamberlain's his digestive potion, you will be allowed to see thomas and bring him the fever tonicum.

nah, the guide doesn't say anything i didn't know before, it still requires crime... I'm doing a no crime challange run, might be impossible in KCD2.

to do it without crime... or better without sneaking

1) do the chore and carry the coalsacks
2) help the cook open the chest in the basement
3) when in the kitchen, talk to the guy with belly ache - hope you have high enough talking skill/alchemy skill - he will give you the permission to get to the alchemy lab and get the medicine for him
4) he is now happy enough to let you get to the captain in the other tower
5) when in that tower, talk to the women, go back to the alchemy lab, do your part and do the alchemy hoolahoop,
6) give her the medicine
7 ????
8) profit
9) congrats you've done it... already done it by point 6 - but ???? -> profit never gets old ;)

no, you would still have to steal the ginger and the elderberry, either from the surgeon's chest or by following the locations provided in the book.
Like I said, might be possible if passing Katherine's skill check removes the stolen tag from itens looted from the surgeon's chest, will check it later.
I want to check if it's possible to finish the game with all 0s in the crime statistics tab, so you can't lockpick anything and you can't steal anything, loot corpses whatever...

it is impossible finishing the game without committing ANY crime, because it's only a crime due to you being acting against your enemy within their territory.

listen to dialogue, pay attention to details, use brains and you are golden.
Want the easy way with answers on a platter? There are at least 5 different ways of finishing this quest that I have discovered on my own with a single playthrough.

Maybe if you somehow get inside trosky castle and hide the required ingredients for the fever potion in a chest .... before the wedding

I want to finish the game with all 0s in crime statistics tab... That's all, i'm not RPing anything, I already finished the game normally.
I'm also doing a no kill run, so i'm playing unnarmed only.
The people I have to kill i just throw them unconscious from a cliff or let mutt finish them off.

But that's a self challenge that the game made no provision for
Try ending a game with no dialogue, RPIng a mute Henry lol

If you could smuggle itens in the castle it could be possible to indirectly steal the fever tonicum from the hermit from blacksmith's quest, as he has one, maybe by dropping him uncounscious around bandits and then looting it from the bandits.

I don't think you can find elderberry outside the locked chests in trosky castle though.
Huge respect for rushing through a game not learning how it works, then rushing back through to do a really specific play through, then getting frustrated and crying about life on steam.

You have set yourself a challenge for no reason and now are upset, to the point of outrage, that you are not able to complete the challenge.
