The Castle if you didn't fully skill on stealth is almost impossible to knock out the guards so best stay with stones and stalking around....
but if you get the right perk it is piece of cake.
it also just helps if they are asleep, and you kill them while they are in their bed.
wait till it's night ;)
I have seen many people who just start the stealth kill but never actually attack when you have to.
Your strength is lower than target's. Your stealth is low, you don't have the perks. Any of these.
Also you have to wait for the "crossed swords" icon to appear and left click. Then you will stealth kill and be able to pick up the body. If you fail to click in time, target will cry out and others might hear it.
If you are weak and pathetic, you will fail the initial strike, target will counter but even then you can finish if you click in time on subsequent icons. But it will be loud.
Just lazy designed, with invisible walls, debuffs, and more enemies on patrol than the castle has inhabitants. Pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to slow you down and force a stealth mission on you.
Add to that enemies blocking my stealth kills despite me waiting for the crossed swords signal to finish them .... and it is infuriating.
Whoever allowed that piece of ♥♥♥♥ to stay in the game needs to be perma-banned from making computer games.
once you get up from the basement, go upstairs, there is a guy singing and making food or whatever.
just ignore him, go out of the door to the outside and keep walking up on the wall until you get the cutscene.
then go on the left wall (so you wont run into the guy on the right)
when you're inside go up, there will be 2 guys talking at a table. wait for one guy to walk up and the other falling asleep.
at that point you pretty much skipped every person that would be in your way.
but i dont disagree, its a ♥♥♥♥ quest and a stealth forced mission should never have been ingame.
Stealth is more about timing and carefulness, stats helps but mostly you have to be very precise.
