What nobility and elites in general suffer from. Is them basically living in another "world" than the rest of us.
When you have enough money that you can pretty much buy yourself whatever, and you never have to worry about not being able to afford something as basic as food or medical drugs.
You can't relate to someone who do.
You also don't put as much of value into the work other people do for you or the worth of the money in your account.
In France it went to such an extreme, where nobles literally saw themselves as god chosen caste, while they saw the plebs as little better than animals.
Which later on resulted in a revolution so destructive that monarchs and nobles in the rest of the Europe started thinking fast how to fix the ♥♥♥♥ in their own countries, so they wouldn't meet a similar fate.
