190 thousand playing on average daily , is that good ?
so, since release 190 thousand are playing daily , is that good numbers for a game this big open world and been in development for years and years <7> that's just on steam , my guess would be a yes .. add in xbox,ps5 and epic games .. figure what maybe 600 thousand playing daily ,,, that would make this a successful game .. right ?

These numbers are just on steam, think about all the console players, Probably more like 400k or more :)
Yes, it is successful.

Unfortunately today's society is more toxic than ever so you will always have the usual forum lurkers who froth at the mouth seeing people enjoy the game and always have a private profile due to insecurity and fear.

There are many games which I think are silly and I will just not play or even try to for free, but if someone enjoys it then, fine? Who am I to judge?

It has been praised by almost every "normal" youtube reviewer who are trusted by a wide community.

Game is indeed simplified, but that's fine. It's still a beautiful world with fun story and I am enjoying it and don't need anyone to tell me what to enjoy and what not to enjoy.

It's crazy how games can divide people. It's pretty sad actually.

I watch Cohhcarnage live streams and every day people message how they have just bought the game after watching game play. It's not like Veilguard were all who would buy it , would buy it day one and that's your lot. KCD2 carry's on selling and probably will for months after it's launch. At full price that is. After that it will be sales that will shift even more copies.
It's the weekday, you will never see peak numbers during weekdays unless the game specifically markets itself to unemployed basement dwellers.

The game made over 40 million USD in a single day, which according to sources means the game made back its development cost so every sale after that is pure profit.

KCD 2 is a niche game at its heart, it's an immersive oldschool RPG set in a historical background, that's immersive to what's sometimes its own detriment.

I remember around when the first game came out many people were bashing it saying that nobody wants a game like this because the entire premise is boring, which yes it kind of is, but that's also what makes it interesting to people because there's no other game with a premise like this. What other historical first person RPGs are there?

The game was never going to have huge mainstream appeal, it's not a mainstream game in the same way Dark Souls 3 was not mainstream. It's a game that knows its audience and that's why it's loved by that audience.

Extremely successful.
I don't know about extremely,
From what I know it's cost $36.5 million USD including marketing costs, or rather 750 million crowns to create KCD 2 game.

Now we had 190,000 player meaning they might brought game that cost $80 so all total would be $15,200,000 on steam, so they profit $15,200,00 but they might more player do buy game but not play, so if it on steam it's failed, but I don't know Microsoft window or Playstation 5 or Xbox series X, so they might be successful but extremely? It's hard to said, they had to make bigger than $36.5 million, maybe double of that or more, I guess extremely would be making $200 million or more would be reasonable. They need profit for future game and keep shareholder happy, I guess, no?

Little more than $36.5 million or less would be bad.
They said they made all costs back on release day.

Pretty successful by single player RPG standards. Numbers are going to drop pretty hard in a few weeks as it's not a live service game but it's a very successful title by most metrics
just wait for all the game journalists once again coming out with another ♥♥♥♥ article with the headline "KCD2 lost 80% of their playerbase since release" in a few weeks/months.

they already have done that, like they forget when people complete a SP game.. they usually stop playing.
Yup, it will drop off and I bet when hardcore releases or modding support is added people will come flooding back.

I'm really hoping the mod scene takes off this time
If it sells good, means more historical games. Always a plus.

Its a most selling game globally rn.
But who cares about numbers, look up some gameplay and if you think it looks fun, buy it, if not, then dont. Easy as that.
I've come to the conclusion that this game isn't for me, and that's okay. Games like this aren't for everyone, they're niche--even if they have a high player count. 190k people playing it is a drop in the bucket compared to the actual number of people playing at any given time. That's not to say this game isn't worthy of its praise--I can definitely see how this appeals to the right people, I can see where the good qualities are, and why it's reviewed so well, but again, it's just not my cup of tea.

At my age, with my responsibilities, schedule, and obligations I want games that are more "hand holding," and this game isn't it. I want games that are spectacles, not games grounded purely in realism. I want games where I can pick it up for a short period, get stuff done, and put it down. I want a game where I can choose to be a maniac that swings his weapon haphazardly to destroy everything around him or sit with shield in hand and play defensively, not one where you HAVE TO play basically one way. That group of
bandits? I'd like to decimate them in a matter of seconds, even minutes, loot their corpses and camp, and move on.

I honestly wanted to like this game, played the first little bit, explored a little, got a feel for the combat, and then let it sit for a week untouched and came to the conclusion that I'm not going to force myself to like a game because it's popular, I'm not going to think any less of myself because I can't grasp, nor do I want to grasp the mechanics of the game--I play video games for enjoyment, and I just don't have time to sit and look for the enjoyment, I need it right there, ready to go.

They said that they made their money back on the first day of sales so yea it's successful.
